Lizzie Post
Sutter Creek [Amador County, California]
May 10th, 1884
Lizzie Post was the daughter of John M. Post and Matilda Irving Post. Lizzie was still living with her parents in the 1900 census as were her
siblings "Henrette" Post and James Elmer Post.[1]
The census states she was born in Aug 1866, in California. We can estimate that
Lizzie was 18 when she signed the Autograph book.
The 1910 census finds that Elizabeth J. Post, age 43, was a Boarder;
employed as a “Trained Nurse” living in Oakland, Alameda County, California.[2]
In the 1920 census we find Elizabeth J. Post, age 53, living
as a single woman, employed as a Private Nurse. She has a 7 year old child of
no relation living with her by the name of Verena Howey.[3]
Elizabeth J. Post is age 63 in the 1930 census. She has
moved in with her older sister, Georgiana M. Baleh. They are living in Oakland,
Alameda County, California. It appears that she is still working as she is
listed as a “Trained nurse for a Private Family”.[4]
Elizabeth Post is now 73 in the 1940 census and is now
living with her brother, Elmer Post. They are living in Township 4, Amador
County, California.[5]
Elizabeth Post, born 2 August 1866 in California; died 17
July 1959, in Alameda County, California. Father’s surname, Post; Mother’s
