Jackson,
April 22, 1884
Dear
Lizzie:
Be earnest! And if life brings
not to you
the measure you have set your
standard to
attain, be not discouraged, but
work on and
in the end, be your advancement
what it
may, be sure that He, who reads
the in-
most motive of the heart will
say: “Well done.”
From, very sincerely,
Your friend and fellow teacher,
-
Olga
Reichling –

The time is here, we must part. I
hope when you are settled in your new home, surrounded by different scenes and
new friends you will not forget to let your thoughts wander back to Amador County and your old friends.
Top of page additional comment:
I wish you a very pleasant
journey, many new friends and success in your great undertaking in that of
imparting knowledge to the rising generation.

Olga
Reichling was located in the 1870 census in her father Peter Reichling’s household.[1]
The family was still in Amador County in 1880. In 1900, Olga Reichling was listed
as “niece” of Anton Obert in San Francisco, California.[2]
This 1900 census tells us that Olga was born in Nov 1864, California, and she
was age 35. It
appears that Olga Reichling married Anton Obert. Olga Obert died 13 Feb 1906 in
San Francisco.[3] They have a double headstone in
the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma, California.[4]
