Delia was first enumerated in the home of her father, G.W. Watkins, age 38, in 1870.[i] G.W. was born in Indiana per the census. The household included her mother, Eliza, age 32, born Kentucky; daughter Lemuella [?], age 14, b. California; son, George, 11, b. California; son, Royal, 8, b. California; daughter Adelia [Delia], age 5, b. California; son, Elmer, 2, b. California. There are also two men who appear to be boarders in the household.

By 1880 Adelia Watkins is listed as a School Teacher, age 16.[ii]

On 12 August 1888, in Amador County, California, Delia M. Watkins married Wilbur D. Campbell.[iii]

By 1900 Wilbur and Delia are now living in Los Angeles, California.[iv] Wilbur Campbell, b. July 1858, Indiana; age 41, married 12 yrs; wife, Della, b. Oct 1864, 35, married 12 years, kids 2 born, 2 living; son , Wilbur, 11, b. May 1889, California; son, LeRoy, 6, b. May 1894, California; Father, L.S. Campbell, 78, b. Mar 1822, Delaware.

On 18 Jun 1913, Los Angeles County, California, a Wilbur W. Campbell married a Marian Depaw Beveridge. It is noted that Wilbur W. Campbell’s parents were Wilbur Dudley Campbell and Delia May Watkins.[v]

On 20 Mar 1925, Los Angeles County, California, a Wilbur W. Campbell married Harriette Ora Simpson.[vi] His parents were listed as Wilbur D. Campbell and Delia May Walkins.

Skipping ahead to the 1930 census we find that Wilbur D. Campbell and wife Delia are still in Los Angeles County.[vii] They have in the household with them, son Wilbur W. age 40, married; son , Leroy S., age 35, married.

By 1940, Delia Watkins Campbell has passed. Presumably she died in Los Angeles, California. Her husband is listed as a widower in this census. He is living with his son, [Head of household] Wilbur W. Campbell, age 50, divorced, b. California; Father, Wilbur D., 81, Widow, b. Indiana; brother [to Wilbur W.], Roy, 45, Married, California; sister-in-law, Iva L., 43, b. California.[viii]

The cemetery, Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, has not been fully photographed. At this writing it is 79% photographed with 191 photo requests waiting to be filled.

Wilbur Dudley Campbell is buried in Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.[ix] It doesn’t appear that Delia Watkins Campbell is buried with him.
